Il festival Espressioni Film Festival nasce nel 2006 su iniziativa del Comune di Milano e viene realizzato, presso il Cinema Gnomo, con la direzione artistica di Perypezye Urbane. Si tratta di un festival audiovisivo che ospita le più svariate opere cinematografiche, dai documentari sulle arti performative, ai film e video sperimentali. Da subito la rassegna presenta una programmazione internazionale e a partire dall’edizione 2011 consolida anche una collaborazione con il festival Coreografo Elettronico.

Da due anni Espressioni Film Festival è impegnato in un tour che nel corso del 2011 ha raggiunto le città di Siena, Roma, Bari, Catania (Italy), Nis-Sombor (Serbia), Podgorica (Montenegro), Varna (Bulgaria), Izmir (Turkey) and Praia de Iraçema (Brazil); nel luglio 2012 è stato ospite del festival “Wam!” di Faenza, il 31 agosto i corti sono stati presentati a “Perle” a Forte Marghera (Mestre- VE) in occasione della presentazione dei progetti di C32 Performingartworkspace. Dal 20 al 30 settembre 2012 farà tappa a Bari presso Visioni (p)arte Festival

The Espressioni Video Festival is organised by Perypezye Urbane. We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the distribution and appreciation of European films in Italy. This Milan-based festival showcases the variety of Italian experimental cinema each year: the Festival selections range from documentary on performing arts to experimental films and videos. The Festival calls attention to the importance of preserving Europe’s film heritage, creating a network with other festivals and displaying films designed to stress the lively cultural climate within European audiovisual production.

Founded in 2006, since then, the festival has grown from strength to strength, bringing together the best of contemporary cinema.
